ASICS FUJI TRAIL TEAM REPORT #19

 Autumn is a "dangerous time" for athletes! It's been a long year, the races are going faster and faster and the bodies are tired: there are those who have had a successful season and would like to finish it off with a last success... and there are those who are disappointed and would like to show off their real talent .... but above all, we have to take into account what the bodies can give: health must remain our priority... 

This being said,  things are going well at the moment though, and our infirmary is pretty empty, let's stay vigilant .... sometimes less is more !!!

If we have to single out one major performance,from lasts weeks,  it's a light for the future with  Julia, who at the age of 18 is up there with the world's best elite athletes .....but what are her limits? 

Julia surprises us at every race, and at just 18 years of age, she has just dominated a legend in her sport, the Austrian Andrea MAYR, 7 times world mountain race champion, in the mythical Hochfelln Berglauf. 

With her discretion and light stride .... we find it hard to understand her limits.

This new race, dreamt up and organised by TEAM ASICS TRAIL athletes Quentin and Alexandre MEYLEU, saw two young Frenchwomen shine.   

Diane and Manon dominated the race under the warm Avergnat sun !!

Sky running races are known to be extremely technical and difficult, but this edition of Gorbeia Sky Running World Cup, which took place in the rain and mud, reached new heights in terms of difficulty and risk-taking.   It's a subject we need to think about in the future, if we want to protect our athletes.

 Against this backdrop, Antonio once again proved his worth, maintaining his commitment and finishing in a good 4th place without any physical damage. Dimas https://www.instagram.com/dimaspereiraobaya/?hl=fr was not so lucky, as he was in a good position with Antonio, when he fell down, injuring his ribs. Antonio held off to come to his aid, and set off the race  again .... to finish the job!

A very solid performance, that's what Genis has just achieved with this 4th place in the Ultra Pireneu Marathon , probably one of the most difficult races of the season for the level of competition ... 

An announced objective, meticulous preparation and a well-managed race, well done Genis, a fine stage in the progress of this young athlete.

A 2nd place in the championship, but a real disappointment for Bene. All it took was a few minor technical errors at the refuelling points and perhaps a poor choice of boots... the FUJI SPEED3s would have been preferable... add a little cold and the title is gone! A solid top 5 for Adie, over a distance and terrain that suits her well.... sure of this calendar classic in South Africa

The final of the 5th edition of the Trail elite factory France took place in the Alps at La Clusaz in the cold of a weather depression; 16 young athletes who had been selected since May in Normandy, in the Pyrenees, in the Vosges and in the Alps competed in 2 events : up and down of 9k and 838 D+400D- and a mass start of 15 km and 950 D+D-. 

In these difficult conditions, two young athletes came out on top and will be joining the team next year: Lilli BECK , a very young athlete from the Pyrenees, who has already won the European Championships, and Tibère DEBIZET , who comes to us from the Alps and has already put in some fine performances in the 20K format. 

Welcome to these new talents, who confirm that our academy is an excellent system for detecting new talent.
