ASICS FUJI TRAIL TEAM REPORT #18

After the UTMB finals, all the athletes takes part to races of different formats, and we've been anxiously awaiting the resumption of competitive activity after phases of doubt, injury or stress....

This end of summer brings us some great news: confirmation of Sara's return to her best level as she dominates and wins the Skyrhune, Nuria's in Spain winning comeback after injury  and the same for Maude in Switzerland, the end of Esher's troubles as he completes a 120K by UTMB in 2nd place, and many other great performances. ... can't wait to see what's next for this immensely talented group!

Head for the Asics Pacific Champ in Korea and thanks to Charlie Hamilton ( asics athlete)  for managing the cooling with galleys and water .... strategy paid off!

This race is a monument, 4000 runners at the start of a marathon in the mountains, with almost 2000 meters elevation gain ! 4 weeks after  Paris Olympic marathon ,  Laura's was comback in her "garden"  ( 2 times winner) ; she  takes a good 3rd place and her 2022 record is still in place. https://www.instagram.com/p/C_nnZ2XNb9c/?hl=fr&img_index=5

Dimas had made this world sky running event, with the Spanish selection, his main objective. With this 5th place, he shows that he's up for the challenge, even if he's a little disappointed not to have kept the podium. Solid performance Dimas!

A good 2nd place in the women's race 🥈🙌🏼 and a ticket to the @goldentrailseries finals in Switzerland. A fine race in the Scandinavian mountains of Norway; despite a nasty fall and a damaged knee, Tintii preserves a podium finish ... and the injury doesn't seem serious.  https://www.instagram.com/p/DAN6XWcNV8p/?hl=fr&img_index=1

 It's hard for all of us to understand  the enormity of Sara's performance! 

This race wasn't on her programme, but while on holiday with her parents in the Spanish Basque country, she felt so good in training that she was tempted.... “Hello coach, I don't have my latest running shirt with me ....and I feel like running tomorrow, what do you think?” We know what happened next: an impressive crowd carried Sara for a major performance, lowering her PB by 6mn and pushing her competitors back to nearly 3 mn .

Simply happy.... We had left Esther in Chamonix, extremely disappointed by her withdrawal from the TDS, even though she was in the fight for the podium. 

This beautiful race in Slovenia, in the mountains where she has often performed, was an opportunity to move on .... mission accomplished with a fine race and a podium finish. 

A few falls, a damaged knee, but the main thing is that Esther has relaunched her season !

We had lefted Nuria before this summer with health problems and the need to take care of her body ...  this weekend in the mountains of Vilaplana, near her home, we saw her emerge from the rocks and fog with a big smile on her face, and we're delighted !

She's not in top form yet, but she's still got a win and 8th place in the scratch oveall!!! 

Welcome to the game again Nuria, can't wait to see what happens next.....

IIn full preparation for the Ultra PIreneu, with heavy legs, following a good week of training, Genis wanted to test his condition on a race close to home, the result is positive .... with a good 3rd place

After an ETC run on "one leg", Maude took time to heal and made her comeback on this popular mountain race ... 1600 MD+! 

It wasn't victory, but a good 2nd place and, above all, a PB on this course which went from 1H25 to 1H11 ....encouraging!
