ASICS FUJI TRAIL TEAM REPORT #15

 
Not exactly a holiday for our athletes, it was another busy weekend with 5 races, as many podiums and 2 victories. 

Ready for a little tour of Europe with the Annastiina, Marina, Maeva, Max, Bene and Antonio ?

Bene has a season ticket for this classic event on the Alpine calendar: DAVOS X TRAIL , he has won for the third time (2021 with a record, 2023 and 2024), well done !

Max tells us about his race: "After having raced at the foot of Mont Blanc 3 weeks ago, I had the honor to race in front of another iconic mountain : the Eiger Quickly after the start of the race, @fatsimpson and I were alone in the lead. The pace was fast but we both seemed to feel comfortable with it and didn’t really try any attacks. During 30km and 2h45 we ran side by side.

At km30, my body suddenly decided to stop working how I wanted. Firstly, blisters and then cramps and stomach issues, forced me to slow down, walk, and even to make toilet stops 😅 Reaching the finish line was painful and my racing time didn’t matter anymore.

Despite the last 5km of the race didn’t go according to the plan, I am still extremely satisfied with the level at which I was able to perform and I feel very confident for the next races 🔥 Robbie.

Maeva loves her mountains, they inspire and resource her ....On this beautiful TRAIL DES GABIZOS course she took a good 2nd place and showed great form this summer! .

Reading the results, with 3 world-class athletes in less than 30 seconds, gives an idea of the intensity of the battle. Managing the distance race, Antonio, author of a stratospheric final run, invites himself onto the podium!

Martina's first experience of the @wmramountainrun circuit, a race format that is still extremely technical and violent, but a fine 4th place: ‘3 days later, I'm still trying to digest this race, which I think is the hardest I've ever done!
