ASICS FUJI TRAIL TEAM REPORT #12

The world trail calendar is exploding, with a multitude of races and labels, and it's becoming very difficult to find your way around: the UTMB label now has more than 40 events, but their audacity is still uneven; the GTWS label has good exposure and a small but very high-level elite field; the SKY RUNNING label is of a very high athletic level, but sometimes gets little media coverage; there are also all the european and world championships, and then there are the legendary races that don't feature in any label. 
We have chosen to leave our ASICS athletes free to build their programmes and their careers, with just one requirement: to aim for the biggest races in the world, whatever the label, and to give priority to the UTMB week final. 
This is what they are doing, with success, and this year the group already has 63 victories on all the labels; this last week, 2 more world titles :Lukas on the SKY RUNNING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP U23 and Antonio on the LAVAREDO UT by UTMB 50 K . 
There's no doubt about it, it's going to be a great summer ....

Lukas is unstoppable, no other words, with this new world title in Montenegro and it hasn't been without its problems. Following a fall in training, Antonio has been injured for the last few days and is still uncertain: "I don't know yet, I'm going to take a cautious start, wait and see what happens depending on the pain". Well, the test was conclusive with tis new success!

Mentally tired, with an injury that has been bothering her for months.... is Maude's situation before the start. We had a great group on this Mont Blanc Marathon, with Max Drion finishing 12th, with a better time than last year when he finished 6th! Quentin Meyleu was disappointed with his 32nd place. 

And we must also inform you and reassure you of this frightening photo of Marie Goncalves, victim of a serious sprain ....it's scary, but Marie went on for another 13K and finished the race in 21° place. Our athletes have courage! 

She has started treatment and the damage is minimal, so she'll be back on her feet in August.
