ASICS FUJI TRAIL TEAM REPORT #10

 Only 2 races this weekend, but still some fine performances on the UTMB circuit with a victory in Tenerife, which makes you forget its European championship, and confirmation of the regularity of Marcos and Andreu with 2 podiums on this same event. 

SWISS CANYON TRAIL                       ( major label event) 

Sissi CUSSOT

4th race in 6 weeks for Sissi and a good 6th place, on this Swiss Canyon Trail and its runnable paths. 

It's a busy programme, but Sissi explains: ‘Sharing, long walks, well-paced training, discovery, sporting festivities, controlled over-achievement... in my eyes, the bib is not systematically synonymous with “flirting with your limits”, “putting yourself in the red”, or even “competing” ....

It's up to you to find your own balance! 🙌🏽🤗"

Maude MATHYS 

20 minutes is the gap to her 2nd place and a TOP 11 overall, a great victory on an UTMB WORLD TOUR event for Maude, but nothing was as simple as that! Very disappointed with her European Championship, Maude wanted to regain her place in the game, but also to secure her qualification for the UTMB / OCC finals, while dealing with a hamstring injury that had been bothering her for some time... nothing simple about that.

Marcos RAMOS GONZALES

It was a fine performance for Marcos, who came up just 27 seconds short of victory. This year Marcos chose to return to shorter distances to regain his speed... and he succeeded in this Tenerife Blue Trail despite the heat and the density of the competition. Andreu SIMON AYMERICH

Andreu went all out to secure this podium. His victory in Japan had left its mark, and he had to recuperate and take care of himself for a few weeks, before embarking on a new development cycle, but this was very short, just 2 weeks... So he had to deal with an imperfect form. 

Suffering from cramps on the steep climbs in the heat, he lost ground to come back into the lead at the end of the race, just a 40sec from victory, to join his team-mate Marcos on the podium. Well done!

On the very popular Alpine half marathon in the fabulous Dolomites, on a rolling course not really in her register, Martina took a good 2nd place, confirming her current good shape.
